Forever changed

I have just returned home this week. My father received the kidney transplant he waited for and dreamed about. The surgery went well and it was working fine, but his heart stopped during the night and he passed away. My world has forever changed, and my heart is a little raw.
I spent a month with my mother and family. It's so hard to live so far away from them, especially at times like these.

I found an old hummingbird feeder my father had in my parents' basement. I hung it up on their porch and within no time this little female was there. Mom & I spent a lot of time on the porch and we enjoyed her visits. These are a few pics.

Anyway, I'm home, but not feeling very creative. As soon as my muse returns, I'll post. For now I'll just try to visit all of your blogs for inspiration and enjoyment. Hug everyone you love...don't take them for granted.

my beautiful flower.... So sorry to hear about your loss. You are in my thoughts. If you need someone, give me a call!
You know, hummingbirds do not come easily to the nectar... many people only see a hummingbird a few times in one summer... You may of had someone above watching over you after all...
All my love..............................................................................

I am so sorry about the loss of your father. I lost my father 10 years ago and I still miss him. I hold you in my prayers and hope that each day will bring wonderful memories of him.

I'm happy to see your home Holly, I'm sad to know that the pain in your heart is still very fresh. You are in my thoughts always. I hope you and your family are well and that you can begin the healing process.

The pictures of the humming bird are beautiful. I've hung numerous hummingbird feeders for nearly 2 years and haven't seen a single one. Your father is close at hand, I believe the bird was letting you know that :)

I was so sad for you when I heard this Holly. It's so much harder when we're not (geographically) closer, to give and receive family support. I've been remembering you in my God-blesses.

From the look of the hummingbird, it looks colorful enough to be a MALE. I get hummingbirds on my back porch and from what I have learned the brightly colored ones are male, not female.

Maybe your birdy friend was a gentle reminder from your father that he is still watching over you. At least that is what I would like to think for you.

You are quite an artist, I hope you keep posting more creations!

Blessings to you and even though it has been a year or so, I send my sympathies. Nicole
