I so wanted to create with the beautiful stamp that Suzanne, at Quietfire Designs so generously sent me. Oh well, I can't explain the lack of creativity I'm experiencing, but I'm trying and that's what counts, I'm told.

Sketch
First, I am so excited to have won blog candy! Forget that I only won because most people are working during the day so I was able to answer correctly first. I never win blog candy, so it was no less exciting to win by lack of competition. LOL It was over at the Quietfire Stamps blog. Their sentiments are so beautiful. You should check them out.
Now onto a sketch from the sketchsaturday blog. It's a few weeks old, but I'm always behind.

Somewhere over the rainbow...
Anyone who knows me, knows that the Wizard of Oz is my most favorite movie of all time. I love this StampSmith stamp beyond words! The flourishes and distressing are done in gold brilliance, but you can't see the shine in the pic. TY Kim!!!

Blog bullies!
It seems in the blog playground, there are bullies! They threaten less popular bloggers, like myself, to post more! It's true! As shameful as it is to admit, I'm just going to shell out my virtual lunch money(posts)in hopes to appease them.
Here is a Valentine I had made - it's a pop-out and there is a video tutorial on PaperCraftPlanet.

Happy, Kim?
I haven't been around since before the holidays and Kim has been on my tail to upload something...anything! Since she spoiled me rotten, here's some cards I made recently:
This is for my sister who got my boys Guitar Hero World tour and guitars
The guitar and sentiment is done in black EP with fine, pink glitter in it. The face plate and swirls have been bleached out to different degrees. Inkadinkadoo and bo-bunny.
This is for a cousin who is a parrot lover. These were just embossed and I watercolored them. Simple stuff.

Christmas Gothic Arches
I had fun playing with arches today since I was inspired at Gothic Arches. A bit plain in comparison, but I really enjoy playing again.

New Sketch Challenge site
I stumbled across a new sketch site but it's only for Magnolia & Stampavie stamps. I have none of those, but liked the layout of the sketch.

Round card Challenge
Sharon challenged us at inkstainers to a round card. I'm a square & edgy girl so a big circle was tough. I also don't have Nestabilities or anything to make it easy on me either. As usual, it wasn't the same as what was in my head, but here it is:

Banner Sketching
The above Banner sketching was drawn by a young, talented girl named Tiffany. I just met her this weekend and she shared her sketchbook with me. There were such wonderful sketchings! I fell in love with this little girl sketch as she reminded me of a sprite. I asked if I could scan and use her as a fairy on my blog, and to my delight, she said yes. I did add the wings and covered her womanly attributes, but the actual drawing is all hers. Beautiful isn't it?!

Be yourself
I just can't get enough of this girl and her little sewn face! A lot of people find her odd, but that's what I like about her! It's okay not to be perfect! Be yourself!

Magenta swirl

DCM - little extra - Around Sketch
Kathy's little extra at DCM was a sketch and I was humbled to be asked to join. Not only humbled, but challenged! as round isn't something I do often or well. You should give it a go! The photo doesn't show the colors correctly, but here's what I came up with:
Stamps:
Magenta swirl
Magenta corner scroll

Halloween Quickies
Came across some old prints and thought I'd use them while the time is upon us. Grace Bradley was so pretty.

Scrappie challenge Hero Arts style
We had a challenge on Inkstainers to try our hand at a project on Hero Art here. I didn't have any mailing labels, so I substituted that for some alcohol ink and embossing I've been playing at. I think I'll add a magnet so it can be a bookmark.
Stamps: Studio G, Magenta

Halloween is just around the corner
It's time to play with ghoulish things! I saw this Mojo Monday challenge on Poetic Artistry and had to give it a try with my favorite spider. He's done in black glitter ep, but it's hard to see in the pic. Man, I love that spider! lol
Stamps:
Stamp Oasis - spider
Michael's $1 stamp - Boo to You

For some reason, I just love this sentiment. I love the girl too. There are some stickles in the swirls and some on the edges to appease my sparkle needs.

Comic relief
Sending some comic relief to my mother. She lives for Wednesdays...bingo night. While she's a tiny, thin thing, and the woman looks nothing like her, it does resemble a few there! You wonder where all the bra-burners from the 60s went? Bingo, that's where. Ah, it's all good and fun. Hope she wins BIG on her birthday!

DCM - Quote Challenge
I haven't done a DCM card challenge in forever, but this week it is to use a quote that I adore and happen to have on a stamp by Jody Poesy. It was a sign! (plus it was right up my bird theme alley!)

Bird stamp, cut out and behind vellum: Inkadinkado
Vellum: Provo Nature's feathers
Background PP: Basic Grey Stella Ruby
Base: Bazzill

I'm so glad...
Seems I'm back to simple cards, but it's a start. Actually, if I never get back to being a technique junkie or detailed whatever, it still is quite enjoyable just to create, so I'll just be grateful for that.

Once you have flown...
This is one of my old, favorite quote stamps, by Stamp Camp. "Once you have flown, you will walk with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, there you long to return - Da Vinci." Went well with the bird spell I seem to be under at the moment.

I'm back!
It's been a long time coming, but I'm back...and hopefully to stay active!
This is a card I made a few months back for someone who really put some things into perspective for me. Thank you, Audrey! {warm heart}
This is done with wax paper resist background to start and a page from a french book torn away to reveal the stamped image. The heart (which is not black irl) is tied on with copper wire.

I've been playing with piecing papers together rather than layer on layer. I kind of like the look if it, IRL.

ACROs!
I used to love the game "Acrophobia" online and it went away a few years ago :( but I won a little contest with them.
If making ACROs is fun for you, you should go to Talk to the Ham blog. She own Hambo Stamps which are too funny! My faves are the fractured funnies!
I'm not affiliated, just offering my opinion. ;)

Change is good?
I grew tired of my old banner and style of the blog and thought, well, change is good...sometimes. So I set out to find and alter a template to suit me and design a new banner. I settled on this one. It originally had guitars on it, but I removed them and added my own designs. I lost all my links and music, but I'll get them back slowly as I get to blog hopping.
So...the change...it's good, bad, or what change? - you haven't blogged in so long, I don't even know how I ended up here!

Feeling like a newbie stamper
After not stamping for months, I feel like a newbie stamper all over again. Thanks to my Inkstainers friends, who never let me forget I'm a stamper!
I've learned that people recycle/tear apart their cards, for the bits or embellishments, when they are done enjoying their received cards so....
The tag has a magnet on the back and there is a magnet of the same shape on the card. To open it, you just pop off the magnet. Then when you are done looking at the card, you have a magnet you can steal off it. lol

faux silk?
I'm not sure this technique looks like faux silk, but I adore it anyway. Basically, you stamp, cover image with glue and press crumpled tissue paper on it. I'm not a fan of glue as it leaves the c/s a bit wonky, but I liked this one anyway. (and don't say, "just iron it" 'cause I don't iron. lol)

Christmas Past
The holidays were hard and I didn't think I'd make even one card. I did though, for Dh's family. I only scanned one, but they were the same techique.
This is glossy resist with shiny, silver mirror card behind, but I sanded it for a different effect.
